Corsair strike. The pilots of the airline Corsair are called to go on strike from 16 to 22 December 2022 by the national union of airline pilots (SNPL). Air Antilles strike. The SNPNC-FO union calls on all Air Antilles’ hostesses and stewards to stop working from 17 to 22 December 2022. This strike is likely to be extended beyond the period indicated.
Rail conductors and ticket collectors are planning strike action for both holiday weekends (December 23 to 26 and December 30 to January 2)—the last time this happened earlier in the month, over 60% of all intercity and high-speed trains were cancelled across France.
Air France cabin crew unions have declared a strike from December 22 to January 2.

In the event of strike action, the government intends to deploy military personnel, civil servants, and volunteers who have been trained to assist Border Force personnel at airports and ports. Despite these plans, the government advises that travellers should still prepare for potential disruption.
The suggested strike dates are December 23, 24, 25, and 26 (till about 7 a.m.), followed by December 28, 29, 30, and 31. (until about 7am). Birmingham Airport, Cardiff Airport, Gatwick Airport, Glasgow Airport, Heathrow Airport – Terminals 2,3,4, and 5, Manchester Airport, and the port of Newhaven are all poised to go on strike..
Strikes have forced the closure of three of Scotland’s most rural airports on Monday. The facilities on the Outer Hebridean islands of Barra and Benbecula, as well as Sumburgh Airport on Shetland, will also be shutdown on Thursday as a result of the action from Unite union members. Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (Hial) said earlier this month that during the strikes, Stornoway Airport on the Isle of Lewis will be open from 1pm to 7.45pm, while Kirkwall Airport in Orkney will be open from 7.15am to 1pm, but only for inter-island flights.

It is recommended to avoid non-essential crowds and to exercise precautionary measures. Ebola is spread through direct contact with infected humans or animals. There is a high incidence of malaria in central Uganda and the symptoms may be mistaken for early signs of Ebola, so the utmost caution is advised.

On 20 September the Ugandan Ministry of Health confirmed the first Ebola death in Mubende district, 150 km west of the capital.
