Europa
España. Previsión de mal tiempo y huelgas
Las previsiones para España y Portugal hasta al menos el 20 de enero incluyen mucha lluvia, mucha nieve, mucho viento y mucho oleaje.
Las autoridades han emitido las siguientes alertas:
- Los distritos de Aveiro, Braga, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisboa, Oporto y Viana do Castelo en Portugal y el País Vasco en España tienen alertas costeras rojas (nivel más alto en una escala de tres niveles).
- Avisos costeros naranjas: el resto del litoral portugués, así como las costas septentrional, occidental y sudoriental de España y las Islas Baleares.

Spain Adverse weather forecast and strikes
Forecasts for Spain and Portugal through at least January 20 include a lot of rain, a lot of snow, a lot of wind, and a lot of waves.
The following alerts have been issued by authorities:
- Aveiro, Braga, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisboa, Porto, and Viana do Castelo districts in Portugal and Basque Country in Spain have red (highest level on a three-tier scale) coastal warnings.
- Orange coastal warnings: the remainder of Portugal’s coastline, as well as Spain’s northern, western, and southeastern coasts and the Balearic Islands.
- Orange wind warnings are in effect for the Spanish Valencian Community, northern Galicia, and Portugal’s Castelo Branco and Guarda provinces.
Most of the remaining impacted area is covered by yellow rain, snow, and wind warnings.
At local airports, severe weather may also result in flight cancellations and delays. Authorities may temporarily cease port and ferry operations or block beachfronts if severe winds cause hazardous marine conditions. Regional rail lines could be blocked by flooding; delays and cancellations of freight and passenger trains are possible in areas with significant rainfall and potential track inundation.
Vueling strike in Spain. The Stavla union is the organiser of the stoppages, which began on 1 November and will take place every Friday, Sunday and Monday until 31 January 2023.

Italy. Several Strikes
All of the strikes that have been confirmed so far are regional or local, which means that while they are still annoying, they are not anticipated to have a significant negative impact.
January 16: From 8.30 am to 12.30 pm on Monday, employees of Rome’s public transportation providers Atac and RomaTPL will go on strike. It is currently anticipated that the strike, which will impact local buses, trams, metro lines, and the Termini-Centocelle rail line, will cause significant delays and cancellations on a number of routes. United Kingdom. Several strikes affecting transport and Railway incident.
On January 16, 19, and 26 London bus drivers will be on strike. The action will primarily affect buses in south and west London. Striking workers will be from depots in Battersea, Beddington, Hayes, Southall, Twickenham and Walworth.
Stansted Airport: No direct trains on 13th-18th January. There are no direct trains between Stansted Airport and London Liverpool Street due to essential engineering works. Please avoid travelling by train if possible and use alternative travel options like car, coach or taxi to Stansted Airport.
Following a «massive» landslip that caused one track to dangle in midair and the collapse of a main railway line, passengers are being advised not to board specific services into and out of London.
On the Hampshire embankment to the northeast of Hook station, on the line running from London to Basingstoke, a 44-meter landslip occurred over the past week.

Greece New Covid restrictions
For visitors coming from China, new entrance requirements have been implemented in Greece. You must provide proof of a COVID-19 test that was negative (PCR or rapid) within the 48 hours before to travel. You must stay in quarantine for at least 5 days if you contract COVID-19. On public transportation, in pharmacies, hospitals, and medical facilities, face masks are required. Regular protests can interrupt public transportation and quickly devolve into violence. Avoid areas where protests are occurring and heed local authorities’ recommendations.

Si viaja a Chipre desde China, Hong Kong o Macao, debe mostrar un resultado negativo de la prueba COVID-19 (antígeno o PCR) obtenido en las 48 horas previas a la salida. En el aeropuerto, además, puede someterse a pruebas arbitrarias. Chipre insta a todos los viajeros a utilizar mascarillas en situaciones de riesgo, como en vuelos largos. Algunos servicios, como las residencias de ancianos y los centros médicos, exigen un «SafePass» y el uso de una mascarilla. En caso de que le pidan que muestre su Certificado Internacional de Vacunación contra el COVID-19 (ICVC), deberá hacerlo en copia física y con una prueba de su identidad. Cyprus New Covid restrictions
If you are traveling to Cyprus from China, Hong Kong, or Macau, you must show a COVID-19 test result (antigen or PCR) that was negative and was obtained within the previous 48 hours of departure. At the airport, you can additionally be exposed to arbitrary testing. All travelers are urged to use masks in risky situations, such as on lengthy flights, by Cyprus. Some services, like elderly care and medical facilities, need a «SafePass» and a face mask to be worn. You will be moved to a quarantine center if you have COVID-19 when you arrive in Cyprus or contract it while there.

Belgium New Covid restrictions
Direct flights from China to Belgium require passengers to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test (RAT or PCR) performed no more than 48 hours before to departure. Unless you are arriving directly from China, you are no longer needed to quarantine or undergo COVID-19 testing. If you are traveling from a nation that poses a very high risk, entry restrictions still apply. Non-essential travel from outside the EU is no longer prohibited. There is no longer a requirement for you to submit a Passenger Locator Form (PLF), show proof of COVID-19 immunity or recovery, or have a negative COVID-19 test. Belgium’s COVID-19 regulations have been loosened.

Germany Covid restrictions
No COVID-19 negative, recovery or vaccination document is required for entry into Germany, provided that the traveller has not been in a country classified as a «risk variant area» or a «risk variant endangered area» during the ten days prior to arrival on German territory. As of 11 January 2023, the People’s Republic of China (with the exception of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) is classified as a «risk variant area». Therefore, any person who has been in the People’s Republic of China (except Hong Kong) during the ten days prior to entry into Germany must submit a PCR test or an antigen test with negative result.

La situación de seguridad sigue siendo compleja y no se pueden descartar ataques terroristas, secuestros, enfrentamientos o protestas violentas por lo que se desaconseja viajar al país.
No se puede entrar en territorio iraquí sin el correspondiente visado que se expide en las distintas embajadas y consulados iraquíes. Eventualmente, es posible su obtención, a la llegada, en el aeropuerto internacional de Bagdad y en los aeropuertos de la región Autónoma del Kurdistán Iraquí.
Es indispensable viajar al país provisto de un seguro médico con la mayor cobertura posible. Iraq cuenta con un sistema sanitario muy deficiente.

No existe convenio de prestación recíproca de servicios sanitarios para españoles.
Es indispensable viajar al país provisto de un seguro médico con la mayor cobertura posible que pudiera hacer frente a los gastos de una eventual repatriación, incluida el traslado a un hospital en un país próximo a Iraq, ingreso hospitalario en centro privado e incluso intervención de urgencia, caso de ser requerida. El seguro médico debe cubrir el periodo de estancia, incluyendo lesión o enfermedad repentina en el extranjero, emergencia y asistencia, repatriación del cadáver en caso de fallecimiento, responsabilidad civil, etc.

Respecto de la pandemia COVID 19, actualmente estas Autoridades no solicitan prueba negativa de PCR o de vacunacion internacional, pero de tenerla, conviene viajar con esta.
Iraq. Security recommendations

The security situation remains complex and terrorist attacks, kidnappings, clashes or violent protests cannot be ruled out, so travel to Iraq is discouraged.
It is not possible to enter Iraqi territory without a visa, which is issued by the various Iraqi embassies and consulates. It may be possible to obtain a visa on arrival at Baghdad International Airport and at airports in the Autonomous Region of Iraqi Kurdistan.
It is essential to travel to Iraq with as much health insurance as possible. Iraq has a very poor health system.

There is no agreement on the reciprocal provision of health services for Spaniards.
It is essential to travel to the country with medical insurance with the widest possible coverage that could cover the costs of a possible repatriation, including transfer to a hospital in a country close to Iraq, hospitalisation in a private centre and even emergency surgery, if required. Medical insurance should cover the period of stay, including injury or sudden illness abroad, emergency and assistance, repatriation of the body in case of death, civil liability, etc.
In case of serious illness or accident, given the precariousness of local medical services, evacuation from the country may be necessary, perhaps by air ambulance, which is expensive. Nepal Accidente aéreo.
Ayer, un ATR 72 de Yeti Airlines que viajaba desde Katmandú se estrelló en Pokhara, Nepal. Nepal Air crash
Yesterday, a Yeti Airlines ATR 72 that was traveling from Kathmandu crashed in Pokhara, Nepal. There were 72 passengers and crew members on board, and bodies are still being removed from the disaster site by ground personnel. Four crew members and 68 passengers were on board the airplane. 53 of the 68 passengers and the four crew members were citizens of Nepal. There were additionally five passengers from India, four from Russia, and two from South Korea. On the plane, there were other individuals who were citizens of Australia, Argentina, France, and Ireland.
