El departamento de seguridad nacional español ha emitido un aviso que informa del deterioro de la seguridad, principalmente en esta zona y en el noreste, debido principalmente a la actividad de grupos yihadistas. Se estima que, en el primer trimestre del año, la cifra de fallecidos supera las 200 personas como consecuencia de estos ataques y la de desplazados, las 30.000.
