La oficina de asuntos consulares de Estados Unidos ha emitido un aviso sobre los viajes a Etiopia debido a conflictos violentos, delincuencia, fallos en las comunicaciones, terrorismo y secuestros.
La situación de seguridad en Addis Abeba es estable. Sin embargo, hay conflictos violentos esporádicos y disturbios civiles en otras zonas de Etiopía, y la situación de seguridad puede deteriorarse sin previo aviso. El gobierno de Etiopía ha restringido o cerrado previamente Internet, datos celulares y servicios telefónicos antes, durante y después de los disturbios civiles.

The U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs has issued a travel advisory for Ethiopia due to violent conflict, crime, communications breakdowns, terrorism and kidnappings.
The security situation in Addis Ababa is stable. However, there are sporadic violent conflicts and civil unrest in other areas of Ethiopia, and the security situation may deteriorate without warning. The Ethiopian government has previously restricted or shut down Internet, cellular data and telephone services before, during and after the civil unrest.
