México Volcán Popocatépetl.
El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores ha informado sobre la actividad continua del volcán Popocatépetl, la cual está afectando al Estado de Puebla y a la Ciudad de México. Se recomienda que todos los ciudadanos que residan o visiten estos estados se mantengan actualizados sobre la evolución de la situación a través de las páginas de la Coordinación Nacional de Protección Civil de México – twitter @CNPC_MX – o la Protección Civil Estatal de Puebla – twitter @PC_Estatal–. Actualmente, la situación está en semáforo amarillo Fase 3 (actividad intermedia alta). Algunos vuelos pueden verse alterados por la emisión de gases y cenizas del volcán.
En caso de residir o visitar los estados mencionados, especialmente el Estado de Puebla por la dirección de la ceniza empujada por los vientos del norte-noreste, se recomienda seguir las recomendaciones emitidas por las autoridades mexicanas:
– Respetar el radio de exclusión de 12 km del volcán.
– Uso de mascarillas.
– Limpiar ojos y garganta con agua limpia.
– Cerrar ventanas, cubrirlas y permanecer dentro de lugares resguardados.
– Evitar la acumulación de cenizas en techos y patios.
– Utilizar gafas de armazón y evitar las lentes de contacto para reducir la irritación ocular.
– Cubrir y proteger las cisternas y depósitos de agua de las cenizas.
Mexico. Volcanic activity
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported continued activity of the Popocatépetl volcano, which is affecting the State of Puebla and Mexico City. It is recommended that all citizens residing in or visiting these states keep updated on the evolution of the situation through the pages of the National Coordination of Civil Protection of Mexico – twitter @CNPC_MX – or the State Civil Protection of Puebla – twitter @PC_Estatal–. Currently, the situation is at yellow traffic light Phase 3 (high intermediate activity). Some flights may be disrupted by the volcano’s gas and ash emissions.
In case of residing or visiting the mentioned states, especially the State of Puebla due to the direction of the ash pushed by the north-northeast winds, it is recommended to follow the recommendations issued by the Mexican authorities:
– Respect the 12 km exclusion radius of the volcano.
– Use of masks.
– Clean eyes and throat with clean water.
– Close windows, cover them and stay inside sheltered places.
– Avoid accumulation of ash on roofs and patios.
– Wear framed glasses and avoid contact lenses to reduce eye irritation.
– Cover and protect cisterns and water tanks from ash.
