Bulgaria. Preparación para su incorporación parcial a la Zona Schengen.
A partir del 31 de marzo de 2024, Bulgaria se incorporará parcialmente a la zona Schengen. Esta adhesión permitirá a los viajeros procedentes de países de la zona Schengen llegar a Bulgaria sin controles fronterizos por vía aérea y marítima, aunque se mantendrán los controles en las fronteras terrestres.
Los viajeros que lleguen por aire o mar desde otros países de Schengen no necesitarán mostrar pasaportes al llegar, facilitando así los desplazamientos hacia y desde Bulgaria. Sin embargo, aquellos que viajen por tierra deberán seguir portando una identificación válida, ya que las reglas que gobiernan las fronteras terrestres aún no se han establecido.
La inclusión de Bulgaria en Schengen también se espera que aumente el interés de los turistas extranjeros en el país.
– Por aire y mar: Los viajeros procedentes de la zona Schengen podrán entrar a Bulgaria sin necesidad de pasar controles fronterizos, facilitando así sus viajes.
– Por tierra: Se mantendrán los controles fronterizos terrestres, por lo que los viajeros deberán portar identificación válida.
Bulgaria cuenta con varios aeropuertos internacionales importantes que facilitan el acceso al país como el Aeropuerto de Sofía (SOF), Aeropuerto de Varna (VAR), Aeropuerto de Burgas (BOJ) y Aeropuerto de Plovdiv (PDV).

As of 31 March 2024, Bulgaria will partially join the Schengen area. This accession will allow travellers from Schengen countries to arrive in Bulgaria without border controls by air and sea, although controls at land borders will remain in place.
Travellers arriving by air or sea from other Schengen countries will not need to show passports on arrival, thus facilitating travel to and from Bulgaria. However, those travelling by land will still need to carry valid identification, as the rules governing land borders have not yet been established.
Bulgaria’s inclusion in Schengen is also expected to increase the interest of foreign tourists in the country.
– By air and sea: Travellers from the Schengen zone will be able to enter Bulgaria without border controls, thus facilitating their travel.
– By land: Land border controls will be maintained and travellers will be required to carry valid identification.
Bulgaria has several major international airports that facilitate access to the country such as Sofia Airport (SOF), Varna Airport (VAR), Burgas Airport (BOJ) and Plovdiv Airport (PDV).
