La huelga que estaba prevista para el 23 de abril por los técnicos de AI Engineering Services Ltd. (AIESL), empresa estatal encargada del mantenimiento, reparación y revisión de aeronaves y antigua unidad de Air India, ha anunciado la suspensión de dicho paro. Esta medida podría haber provocado importantes trastornos en las operaciones de la aerolínea nacional, pudiendo repercutir en el funcionamiento de otras compañías aéreas que dependen de los servicios de AIESL.

Los pilotos e ingenieros aeronáuticos tienen un papel crucial en la expansión de la flota aérea del país, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta los pedidos de aeronaves realizados por aerolíneas como IndiGo, Air India y Akasa, sumando más de 1.100 aviones en total.
