Reino Unido. Huelga de personal del aeropuerto de Heathrow. 7- 13 de mayo.
En medio de una huelga del personal de repostaje que llega a su fin, el aeropuerto de Heathrow (LHR), el más concurrido del Reino Unido, puede experimentar incidencias significativas en sus servicios. Unite, el principal sindicato británico, ha convocado a cerca de 800 de sus miembros a una semana de paro que se iniciará a las 00:01 hora local del martes 7 de mayo y concluirá a las 23:59 del lunes 13.
Los servicios afectados incluyen a los trabajadores de atención a pasajeros, responsables de facilitar las conexiones aéreas; los operadores de servicios de logística, y el personal de seguridad encargados de la vigilancia de Heathrow y de la revisión de vehículos antes de su ingreso en el aeropuerto. A este grupo se sumarán también los bomberos y el personal de operaciones. Todos ellos desempeñan roles cruciales para asegurar la eficiencia, seguridad y comodidad de las operaciones y los pasajeros del aeropuerto.
Las consecuencias de la huelga se traducirán en retrasos e interrupciones en los servicios. No obstante, Heathrow (LHR) ha comunicado que ya están en marcha medidas de contingencia para minimizar el impacto de la huelga.
Sin embargo, se recomienda a los viajeros con vuelos programados desde o hacia Heathrow (LHR) durante el período de huelga que:
-Verifiquen el estado de su vuelo con la aerolínea correspondiente antes de dirigirse al aeropuerto.
-Prepararse para posibles tiempos de espera prolongados en el aeropuerto y considerar alternativas de transporte en caso de cancelaciones.

In the midst of a refuelling staff strike coming to an end, Heathrow Airport (LHR), the UK’s busiest airport, may experience significant disruption to its services. Unite, the UK’s main union, has called around 800 of its members to a week-long stoppage starting at 00:01 local time on Tuesday 7 May and ending at 23:59 on Monday 13 May.
The services affected include passenger service workers, responsible for facilitating air connections; logistics service operators; and security staff responsible for guarding Heathrow and checking vehicles before they enter the airport. This group will also be joined by firefighters and operations staff. All play crucial roles in ensuring the efficiency, safety and comfort of airport operations and passengers.
The consequences of the strike will be delays and disruption to services. However, Heathrow (LHR) has advised that contingency measures are already in place to minimise the impact of the strike.
However, travellers with flights scheduled to or from Heathrow (LHR) during the strike period are advised to:
-Check their flight status with the relevant airline before heading to the airport.
-Prepare for possible long waiting times at the airport and consider alternative transport in the event of cancellations.
