Según las últimas actualizaciones del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores español, los viajeros que deseen ingresar a Tailandia deben llevar un pasaporte vigente, con una validez mínima de seis meses más allá de la fecha de entrada al país. Esta medida asegura el cumplimiento de las normativas locales y evita inconvenientes durante la estancia.
La entrada a Tailandia por vía terrestre está limitada a 2 ocasiones por año natural bajo la modalidad de exención de visado. No obstante, esta restricción no se aplica a las entradas por vía aérea, siempre que se trate de visitas turísticas. Sin embargo, las autoridades pueden negar la entrada a aquellos viajeros que realicen movimientos transfronterizos continuos (conocidos como «visa run»), al considerar que residen de manera ilegal en el territorio.
En el caso de estancias que superen el periodo permitido sin visado o para actividades que difieran del turismo, es necesario solicitar un visado. Para visitar países vecinos y luego reingresar a Tailandia, se permite la entrada múltiple bajo exención de visado, siempre dentro del marco turístico.
