Europa. Lanzamiento del nuevo Sistema de Entradas y Salidas (SES) de la UE a partir del 10 de noviembre de 2024.
A partir del 10 de noviembre, la Unión Europea implementará el Sistema de Entradas y Salidas (SES), un nuevo sistema informático automatizado diseñado para registrar a los viajeros extranjeros que ingresen al territorio de la UE para estancias cortas. Esta medida se aplicará a todos los visitantes, independientemente de si están exentos de visado.
El SES reemplazará el actual método manual de sellado de pasaportes. El nuevo sistema registrará el nombre del viajero, el tipo de documento de viaje, datos biométricos (huellas dactilares e imágenes faciales), así como las fechas y lugares de entrada y salida de la UE. Además, se documentarán las denegaciones de entrada.
El objetivo principal del SES es modernizar la gestión de las fronteras, prevenir la migración irregular y proteger a los ciudadanos europeos. El sistema también facilitará la identificación de personas que excedan el tiempo de estancia permitido y aquellas que intenten ingresar a la UE con documentos falsificados.
Una vez en funcionamiento, todos los viajeros extranjeros deberán registrarse en el SES. Los datos recopilados se almacenarán en una base de datos segura durante tres años, lo que significa que no será necesario someterse al proceso de registro en cada entrada y salida del bloque.
El SES afectará anualmente a unos 700 millones de personas que viajan a Europa y ofrecerá mayor seguridad a los 450 millones de ciudadanos europeos.
– Se recomienda a todos los viajeros internacionales que planean visitar la UE que se familiaricen con el nuevo sistema y se preparen para registrarse en el SES a partir del 10 de noviembre.
– Es importante llevar documentos de viaje válidos y actualizados, ya que el SES registrará el tipo de documento de viaje y datos biométricos.
– Para evitar contratiempos, es aconsejable planificar con antelación y considerar los posibles tiempos adicionales en los controles fronterizos.
Europe. Launch of the new EU Entry-Exit System (EES) from 10 November 2024.
From 10 November, the European Union will implement the Entry-Exit System (EES), a new automated computerised system designed to register foreign travellers entering EU territory for short stays. This measure will apply to all visitors, regardless of whether they are exempt from visa requirements.
The SES will replace the current manual method of stamping passports. The new system will record the traveller’s name, the type of travel document, biometric data (fingerprints and facial images), as well as the dates and places of entry into and exit from the EU. In addition, refusals of entry will be documented.
The main objective of the EES is to modernise border management, prevent irregular migration and protect European citizens. The system will also facilitate the identification of overstayers and those attempting to enter the EU with forged documents.
Once operational, all foreign travellers will have to register with the EES. The data collected will be stored in a secure database for three years, meaning that there will be no need to undergo the registration process on every entry and exit from the bloc.
The EES will affect some 700 million people travelling to Europe each year and will provide greater security for Europe’s 450 million citizens.
– All international travellers planning to visit the EU are advised to familiarise themselves with the new system and prepare to register for the EES from 10 November.
