Las bajas temperaturas están azotando la mitad norte de Irán generando un incremento significativo en el consumo de energía. Ante la severa ola de frío y las intensas nevadas, las autoridades han ordenado el cierre de escuelas y oficinas en al menos diez provincias con el objetivo de reducir el consumo energético.

Entre las regiones más afectadas se encuentran Lorestán, en el oeste del país; Semnan, en el este; y Gilan, en el norte. Las precipitaciones han causado interrupciones generalizadas en el tráfico terrestre, con carreteras bloqueadas por la nieve, dificultando los desplazamientos en más de 25 provincias, especialmente en el norte y el oeste.

Las condiciones climáticas adversas han generado complicaciones en el transporte aéreo, con retrasos y cancelaciones en varios aeropuertos internacionales del país. El Aeropuerto Internacional Imán Jomeini (IKA) en Teherán ha reportado retrasos en vuelos de salida y llegada debido a la acumulación de nieve y la reducción de visibilidad.
