Chile. Nueva normativa refuerza controles biométricos en aeropuertos nacionales e internacionales.
Las autoridades chilenas han anunciado la entrada en vigor de una nueva legislación que refuerza los controles de seguridad en los aeropuertos del país mediante la incorporación de tecnologías de autentificación biométrica. Esta medida se aplicará tanto a vuelos nacionales como internacionales y tiene como objetivo mejorar la eficiencia en los controles migratorios y fortalecer la seguridad aeroportuaria en todo el territorio. Su entrada en vigor requiere la promulgación por parte del Presidente de la República y su posterior publicación en el Diario Oficial, pendiente de fecha.
La normativa permitirá que la Policía de Investigaciones (PDI) realice la verificación de identidad de los viajeros, tanto en vuelos nacionales como internacionales, mediante tecnologías biométricas. Esto implica el uso de dispositivos de lectura facial, dactilar u otros métodos digitales que cruzan datos en tiempo real con bases oficiales.
Los principales aeropuertos del país afectados por esta medida son el Aeropuerto Internacional Arturo Merino Benítez en Santiago (SCL), el Aeropuerto El Tepual en Puerto Montt (PMC), el Aeropuerto Carriel Sur en Concepción (CCP), el Aeropuerto Diego Aracena en Iquique (IQQ) y el Aeropuerto Andrés Sabella en Antofagasta (ANF).
Estas instalaciones verán reforzados sus controles, con especial atención a los vuelos con origen o destino nacional, aunque también se aplicará a conexiones internacionales.
El tránsito en estos aeropuertos podrá verse afectado por posibles tiempos de espera adicionales en los puntos de control, en especial durante las horas punta o en operaciones con alto volumen de viajeros. Las conexiones entre vuelos nacionales e internacionales podrían experimentar retrasos si se producen congestiones en los filtros de seguridad biométrica.
– Se recomienda a los viajeros llegar con mayor antelación de lo habitual a los aeropuertos chilenos, tanto para vuelos nacionales como internacionales, especialmente si parte desde Santiago (SCL) o conecta a través de esta terminal.
– Aunque los sistemas sean biométricos, es imprescindible llevar los documentos de identidad y de viaje en vigor y accesibles.
– Se aconseja consultar con la aerolínea si se han producido cambios en los procedimientos de embarque o conexión en aeropuertos nacionales como Puerto Montt (PMC), Concepción (CCP), Iquique (IQQ) o Antofagasta (ANF).
