Hong Kong y Shenzhen se han visto afectadas por intensas lluvias que han causado inundaciones generalizadas y representan las peores en más de un siglo. Este clima inusualmente húmedo, ocasionado por los tifones, ha provocado graves trastornos en el sur de China. Las calles han quedado inundada, así como también los centros comerciales, estaciones de metro y túneles.

Las lluvias torrenciales son resultado del tifón Haikui, que tocó tierra el martes en la provincia de Fujian. Aunque el tifón se debilitó y se convirtió en una depresión tropical, sus nubes de movimiento lento han arrojado cantidades significativas de precipitación en áreas que ya estaban empapadas por las lluvias del poderoso tifón de la semana anterior.

Ante esta situación, es importante que los viajeros que tengan planes de visitar Hong Kong y Shenzhen tomen precauciones y sigan las recomendaciones establecidas por las autoridades locales.

Hong Kong and Shenzhen have been hit by heavy rains that have caused widespread flooding and represent the worst in more than a century. This unusually wet weather, brought on by typhoons, has caused severe disruption in southern China. Streets have been flooded, as have shopping malls, subway stations and tunnels.

The torrential rains are the result of Typhoon Haikui, which made landfall in Fujian province on Tuesday. Although the typhoon weakened into a tropical depression, its slow-moving clouds have dumped significant amounts of precipitation in areas that were already drenched by rain from the previous week’s powerful typhoon.

In light of this situation, it is important that travelers planning to visit Hong Kong and Shenzhen take precautions and follow the recommendations set forth by local authorities.
