Islandia. Se cancela la huelga en el aeropuerto de Keflavík (KEF).
La huelga que iba a tener lugar en el aeropuerto de Keflavík (KEF), el principal centro de transporte internacional de Islandia, ha sido cancelada tras llegar a un acuerdo la Confederación de Empresas de Islandia e Isavia con el sindicato Sameyki y la Asociación de Tráfico Aéreo de Islandia. El conflicto laboral, que estaba programado para iniciarse el 9 de mayo, se ha resuelto de manera satisfactoria para ambas partes, evitando así la interrupción de las operaciones aeroportuarias.
El plan original incluía el inicio de las huelgas a las 16:00 hora local del 9 de mayo, con una serie de medidas que restringirían significativamente la actividad en el aeropuerto, incluyendo una prohibición de las horas extraordinarias y de la formación.
Aunque la huelga ha sido cancelada, se aconseja a los viajeros con vuelos programados desde o hacia Keflavík (KEF) en las fechas originalmente afectadas, verificar el estado de su vuelo con las aerolíneas antes de dirigirse al aeropuerto. Se recomienda considerar la posibilidad de reprogramar los vuelos para evitar cualquier inconveniente que pudiera surgir.
Iceland. Strike at Keflavík Airport (KEF) called off.
The strike that was due to take place at Keflavík Airport (KEF), Iceland’s main international transport hub, has been called off after the Confederation of Icelandic Enterprises and Isavia reached an agreement with the Sameyki union and the Icelandic Air Traffic Association. The labour dispute, which was scheduled to start on 9 May, has been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties, thus avoiding disruption to airport operations.
The original plan was for the strikes to begin at 16:00 local time on 9 May, with a series of measures that would significantly restrict activity at the airport, including a ban on overtime and training.
Although the strike has been cancelled, travellers with flights scheduled to or from Keflavík (KEF) on the originally affected dates are advised to check their flight status with the airlines before heading to the airport. It is recommended to consider rescheduling flights to avoid any inconvenience that may arise.
