Portugal. Huelga de trabajadores de handling afectando a todos los aeropuertos del país. 31 agosto – 1 de septiembre.
El Sindicato de Trabajadores del Transporte de Portugal (Sttamp) ha convocado una huelga de los trabajadores de handling de la empresa Groundforce que afectará a todos los aeropuertos de Portugal. La huelga está programada para comenzar a las 00:00 horas del 31 de agosto de 2024 y se extenderá hasta las 24:00 horas del 1 de septiembre de 2024.
Este paro laboral afectará operaciones en los principales aeropuertos del país, incluyendo Lisboa (LIS), Oporto (OPO), Faro (FAO), Madeira (FNC) y Ponta Delgada (PDL). Aunque la huelga será generalizada, se garantizarán los servicios esenciales para la seguridad y el mantenimiento de los equipos e instalaciones en cada uno de estos aeropuertos.
Según el comunicado del Sttamp, los trabajadores en huelga se encargarán de resolver problemas críticos relacionados con la seguridad de las personas y los bienes, así como de gestionar vuelos de ambulancia y situaciones de emergencia declaradas en vuelo.
– Se recomienda a los viajeros que tengan previsto volar desde o hacia Portugal durante los días de la huelga que se mantengan en contacto con sus aerolíneas para verificar el estado de sus vuelos.
– Es aconsejable llegar al aeropuerto con antelación y considerar la posibilidad de llevar equipaje de mano para evitar posibles demoras en la recogida de equipajes. Asimismo, es importante estar preparado para posibles retrasos o cancelaciones de vuelos, y tener a mano alternativas de transporte o alojamiento en caso de que sean necesarias.
Los viajeros que tengan conexiones en alguno de los aeropuertos mencionados también deben tomar precauciones adicionales, ya que la huelga podría afectar el normal funcionamiento de las operaciones aéreas en todo el país.

The Transport Workers’ Union of Portugal (Sttamp) has called a strike by Groundforce handling workers that will affect all airports in Portugal. The strike is scheduled to begin at 00:00 hours on 31 August 2024 and will last until 24:00 hours on 1 September 2024.
This work stoppage will affect operations at the country’s main airports, including Lisbon (LIS), Porto (OPO), Faro (FAO), Madeira (FNC) and Ponta Delgada (PDL). Although the strike will be generalised, essential services for safety and maintenance of equipment and facilities will be guaranteed at each of these airports.
According to the Sttamp communiqué, the striking workers will be responsible for resolving critical issues related to the safety of people and property, as well as managing ambulance flights and emergency situations declared in flight.
– Travellers planning to fly to or from Portugal during the days of the strike are advised to keep in contact with their airlines to check the status of their flights.
– It is advisable to arrive at the airport in advance and consider bringing hand luggage to avoid possible delays in baggage collection. It is also important to be prepared for possible flight delays or cancellations, and to have alternative transport or accommodation available if needed.
Travellers with connecting flights at any of the above airports should also take extra precautions, as the strike could affect the normal functioning of air operations throughout the country.
