Krathon will mainly affect southern Taiwan, where it is expected to make landfall in two days, with winds of up to 205 km/h (65 mph). Subsequently, as the typhoon crosses the island’s central mountain range, its intensity is expected to decrease due to interaction with the terrain, with winds slowing to 140 km/h (87 mph). Once weakened, the system will emerge over the East China Sea, northeast of Taiwan, and continue to move east of Taipei (TPE) over the next three to four days.
