Perú. Período de pruebas en el nuevo aeropuerto de Lima a partir del 15 mayo
El Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones de Perú ha anunciado el inicio de la fase de pruebas -marcha blanca- del nuevo terminal del Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez (LIM) ubicado en Lima a partir del jueves 15 de mayo. Este periodo de pruebas operativas se extenderá hasta el 1 de junio fecha prevista para el inicio de las operaciones integrales en esta nueva infraestructura aeroportuaria.
Durante esta fase inicial, cinco aerolíneas internacionales —Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air Europa, Volaris, Arajet y Aero República (Wingo Colombia)— serán las encargadas de operar desde el nuevo terminal. Se prevé un promedio diario de entre 8 y 10 vuelos internacionales, lo que permitirá comprobar la eficiencia de los procesos aeroportuarios, la conectividad de los sistemas y la coordinación del personal en condiciones reales, aunque sin alcanzar aún el volumen total de operaciones previsto para junio.
La entrada al nuevo terminal será exclusivamente a través de la Avenida Morales Duárez en el distrito del Callao. Para facilitar el acceso de los viajeros, se pondrá en marcha un nuevo servicio de transporte público denominado AeroDirecto, que conectará puntos estratégicos de Lima (LIM) y Callao con el aeropuerto. También se ha habilitado un sistema de conexiones internas entre el actual terminal de Avenida Elmer Faucett y el nuevo de Morales Duárez, lo que permitirá la transición fluida entre ambas instalaciones durante este periodo.
El nuevo terminal busca convertirse en un referente de la aviación regional, con capacidad ampliada para recibir más viajeros y operar vuelos de largo radio, lo que podría suponer una mejora considerable en las conexiones internacionales hacia y desde Perú.
Durante la marcha blanca, las rutas operadas desde el nuevo terminal afectarán conexiones con aeropuertos internacionales como Buenos Aires (EZE), Madrid (MAD), Ciudad de México (MEX), Santo Domingo (SDQ) y Bogotá (BOG), destinos habituales de las aerolíneas mencionadas. Los viajeros deberán comprobar desde qué terminal sale su vuelo y considerar tiempos adicionales de traslado en caso de conexión con otros servicios que aún operen en el terminal actual.
– Los viajeros con vuelos programados entre el 1 y el 3 de junio deberán prestar especial atención a las actualizaciones de su aerolínea ya que el proceso de transición entre terminales podría generar confusión.
– Se recomienda verificar con antelación el punto de embarque del vuelo y planificar el desplazamiento al aeropuerto considerando los nuevos accesos y posibles retrasos por ajustes operativos.
– Algunas aerolíneas han implementado su política de flexibilización de billetes para sus viajeros durante el periodo del 1 al 3 de junio, incluso para aquellos que no estén directamente afectados pero pudieran experimentar dificultades para llegar al nuevo terminal.
– Se aconseja utilizar el servicio AeroDirecto y consultar los mapas y horarios disponibles para minimizar inconvenientes durante el traslado desde Lima (LIM) y Callao al aeropuerto.
Peru. Trial period at Lima’s new airport to begin on 15 May
Peru’s Ministry of Transport and Communications has announced the start of the trial phase – white run – of the new terminal at Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in Lima, beginning on Thursday 15 May. This operational testing period will last until 1 June, the date scheduled for the start of full operations at this new airport infrastructure.
During this initial phase, five international airlines —Aerolíneas Argentinas, Air Europa, Volaris, Arajet and Aero República (Wingo Colombia)— will be responsible for operating from the new terminal. An average of 8 to 10 international flights per day are expected, which will allow for testing the efficiency of airport processes, system connectivity and staff coordination under real conditions, although the total volume of operations planned for June will not yet be reached.
Access to the new terminal will be exclusively via Avenida Morales Duárez in the district of Callao. To facilitate access for travellers, a new public transport service called AeroDirecto will be launched, connecting strategic points in Lima (LIM) and Callao with the airport. An internal connection system has also been set up between the current terminal on Avenida Elmer Faucett and the new terminal on Morales Duárez, which will allow for a smooth transition between the two facilities during this period.
The new terminal aims to become a benchmark for regional aviation, with expanded capacity to receive more passengers and operate long-haul flights, which could mean a considerable improvement in international connections to and from Peru.
During the trial run, routes operated from the new terminal will affect connections with international airports such as Buenos Aires (EZE), Madrid (MAD), Mexico City (MEX), Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Bogotá (BOG), which are regular destinations for the airlines mentioned above. Passengers should check which terminal their flight is departing from and allow extra time for transfers if connecting with other services still operating at the current terminal.
– Passengers with flights scheduled between 1 and 3 June should pay close attention to updates from their airline, as the transition between terminals could cause confusion.
– It is recommended to check the flight departure point in advance and plan your journey to the airport, taking into account the new access routes and possible delays due to operational adjustments.
– Some airlines have implemented a ticket flexibility policy for their passengers during the period from 1 to 3 June, even for those who are not directly affected but may experience difficulties in reaching the new terminal.
– We advise using the AeroDirecto service and consulting the maps and timetables available to minimise inconvenience during the transfer from Lima (LIM) and Callao to the airport.
