Shanghai suspends flights as Typhoon Chanthu approaches

 

Typhoon Chanthu is tracking north-northeastward in the East China Sea, off the coast of Zhejiang Province, mainland China, as of early Sept. 13.
The storm, with winds of more than 170 kilometres per hour, was expected to hit Shanghai on Monday morning. Inclement weather associated with the storm could trigger localized business, transport, and utility disruptions. As of early Sept. 13, all flights at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) are canceled from 11:00 CST Sept. 13 and 15:00 CST Sept. 13 respectively. Both airports are scheduled to be closed through at least Sept. 14. Some subway services in southern Shanghai are also suspended. All trains on the High-speed Rail on the Hangzhou-Ningbo, Beijing-Shanghai, Shanghai-Kunming, and Ningbo-Taiwan-Wenzhou routes have been canceled through at least Sept. 14. Authorities also suspended some port operations at the Shanghai and Zhejiang ports.

Confirm flights before checking out of hotels or driving to the airport; clearing passenger backlogs may take several days in some locations.

Transport strike planned for Helsinki area September 16-17

Tram and metro personnel in Helsinki are threatening a two-day work stoppage next week, on Thursday and Friday, 16-17 September.

The strike of ATM vehicles has been confirmed for Friday 17 September in Milan. Metro, buses and Atm trams may remain stationary from 8:45 am to 3 pm and after 6 pm. 
The strike that could have consequences on the service also in Milan. Localized transportation and business disruptions and an increased demand for alternative transportation are expected during the strike action.
