El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores español, ha actualizado la información del país añadiendo que:
• Se recomienda evitar el Oeste de la ciudad, y también el Sur, debido a la creciente ola de violencia en los barrios del Sur de la ciudad, con excepción del campus de la Universidad de Chicago. Asimismo, conviene evitar la zona del centro en y alrededor de Michigan Avenue, tanto en la parte que se denomina Magnificent Mile como en la zona del Loop cercana al Millenium Park, The Bean y Art Institute of Chicago, ya que ha sido escenario de numerosos altercados violentos llevados a cabo por las pandillas provenientes del Sur de la ciudad. The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated the country’s information adding:
– It is recommended to avoid the West of the city, and also the South, due to the growing wave of violence in the Southside neighbourhoods of the city, with the exception of the University of Chicago campus. Also avoid the downtown area in and around Michigan Avenue, both the Magnificent Mile and the Loop area near Millennium Park, The Bean and the Art Institute of Chicago, as it has been the scene of numerous violent altercations by gangs from the South Side.
