A state of emergency has been declared across the province of Nova Scotia, Canada, due to severe flooding that has affected the region. The flooding is the result of the heaviest torrential rains to hit the Atlantic region in the last 50 years.
The heavy rainfall has led to twenty-five bridges across the province being affected, and unfortunately, six of them have been completely destroyed. This damage to road infrastructure has caused transport difficulties and has left many communities isolated.
