Un terremoto de magnitud 6.9 ha sacudido la región de East Sepik, en Papua Nueva Guinea. Según los informes el epicentro se localizó a unos 38 kilómetros al noroeste de la ciudad de Ambunti (AUJ).

Este sismo de máxima categoría ha generado preocupación en la zona debido a los posibles daños en infraestructuras críticas, incluidos aeropuertos y carreteras.
