El sábado 1 de junio, Londres acogerá uno de los eventos deportivos más destacados del año: la final de la UEFA Champions League 2023/24 en el estadio de Wembley, donde se enfrentarán el Borussia Dortmund y el Real Madrid. Según Eurocontrol, este encuentro es considerado un factor de alto impacto para el tráfico aéreo en la región.
Debido a este evento, los principales aeropuertos de la ciudad, Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), Stansted (STN) y London City (LCY) esperan una gran afluencia de aficionados y podrá ocasionar retrasos a los viajeros que vayan a desplazarse a la ciudad londinense.
El aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas (MAD) operará este fin de semana alrededor de 90 vuelos chárter y/o especiales -salidas y llegadas- con los aeropuertos de Reino Unido.
El Grupo Iberia ha aumentado sus operaciones con un total de 73 vuelos programados entre Madrid y Londres, ofreciendo cerca de 15.000 plazas. Estos vuelos están organizados del 30 de mayo al 1 de junio, con 34 vuelos regulares y cinco chárter que suman 8.000 asientos; los vuelos de vuelta se concentrarán el 2 y 3 de junio.
Dada la importancia del evento, se recomienda a los viajeros que necesiten entrar en el Reino Unido contar con un pasaporte válido por toda la duración de su estancia. Además, se aconseja utilizar taxis o autobuses desde o hacia el aeropuerto de Luton (LTN), ya que no habrá servicios ferroviarios directos ese día. Los autobuses operarán con una frecuencia de cuatro servicios por hora, tardando entre 65 y 95 minutos en llegar al centro de Londres.
El Victoria Embankment servirá como punto de reunión para los seguidores del Real Madrid a partir de las 11:00 hora local del día del evento. Se realizarán controles de seguridad en la entrada, incluyendo registros corporales y de bolsos, por lo que se sugiere llegar con tiempo suficiente para evitar retrasos.
Las puertas del estadio se abrirán a las 16:00 horas, por lo que se recomienda salir con tiempo suficiente para evitar aglomeraciones y asegurar un acceso sin contratiempos. Para llegar al estadio, se desaconseja el uso de taxis debido al incremento del tráfico y las posibles restricciones viales. La mejor opción es utilizar el metro, con estaciones cercanas en Wembley Park y Wembley Central, o los trenes que llegan a la estación de Wembley Stadium.
Para aquellos viajeros presentes en la ciudad durante estos días, el Consulado General de España en Londres ampliará sus horarios de atención al público desde las 09:00 del sábado 1 de junio hasta la 01:00 del domingo 2, y el domingo desde las 09:00 hasta las 15:00 horas.

Due to this event, the city’s main airports, Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), Stansted (STN) and London City (LCY) are expecting a large influx of fans and may cause delays for passengers travelling to London.
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) will operate around 90 charter and/or special flights – departures and arrivals – with UK airports this weekend.
The Iberia Group has increased its operations with a total of 73 flights scheduled between Madrid and London, offering nearly 15,000 seats. These flights are organised from 30 May to 1 June, with 34 scheduled flights and five charter flights with a total of 8,000 seats; return flights will be concentrated on 2 and 3 June.
Given the importance of the event, travellers needing to enter the UK are advised to carry a passport valid for the duration of their stay. In addition, it is advised to use taxis or buses to and from Luton Airport (LTN), as there will be no direct rail services on the day. Buses will operate at a frequency of four services per hour, taking between 65 and 95 minutes to reach central London.
Victoria Embankment will serve as a meeting point for Real Madrid supporters from 11:00 local time on the day of the event. There will be security checks at the entrance, including body and bag searches, so it is suggested to arrive in good time to avoid delays.
Stadium gates will open at 16:00 hours, so please leave early to avoid crowds and ensure smooth access. To get to the stadium, the use of taxis is discouraged due to increased traffic and possible road restrictions. The best option is to use the underground, with nearby stations at Wembley Park and Wembley Central, or trains arriving at Wembley Stadium station.
For those travellers present in the city during these days, the Spanish Consulate General in London will extend its opening hours from 09:00 on Saturday 1 June until 01:00 on Sunday 2 June, and on Sunday from 09:00 until 15:00.
