The strike will impact regional and long-distance routes nationwide, with only 25 percent of passenger services expected to run Aug. 11-12. Short-notice delays and cancellations are likely until the crews return to work and those trains that do operate are likely to be congested. Deutsche Bahn has announced that passengers who have pre-bought tickets will be entitled to a refund.
Train services to and from Frankfurt Airport can be affected by delays and cancellations due to an announced strike as of Wednesday. Passengers as well as their meeters & greeters are advised to plan their journey well in advance and possibly allow extra time to reach the airport.
