Travelers to US will need to take a COVID test within 24 hours of flight

International travelers coming to the United States from anywhere in the world including American citizens will now have to show proof of a negative covid test taken within 24 hours of their departure. The new plan, going into effect Monday at 12:01 a.m., makes no exceptions for vaccination status.

However, the federal mask mandate requiring travelers to wear masks in airports, on planes and on other modes of public transportation such as trains and buses has been extended through March 18.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks. Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures and reconfirm all travel arrangements.
