All train lines blocked due to incident near Manchester Piccadilly

 
 
 

Due to a broken rail discovered during the night, some services to and from Manchester Piccadilly will be severely disrupted until further notice. Network Rail is working to resolve the issue. All services from the station are currently suspended.

The following services have been withdrawn:

Blackpool – Manchester Airport (both directions)
Liverpool Lime Street – Manchester Airport (both directions)
Wigan North Western – Alderley Edge (both directions)

The line between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport is fully blocked. Services affected include East Midlands Railway, Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales.
