Germany. Security staff goes on strike at several airports on Monday, 14 March

The union Verdi has called security staff at several airports across Germany to go on strike on Monday, 14 March. Strikes are confirmed at the following airports: Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER); Bremen Airport (BRE); Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN); Dusseldorf Airport (DUS); Hanover Airport (HAJ) and Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ).

At the affected airports, passengers must expect considerable restrictions in some cases. Passengers should find out about delays or cancellations from the airlines and plan more time for their journey, according to the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport Company. More than half of the regular flights were canceled at Cologne/Bonn Airport, and Düsseldorf Airport expects similar figures. Numerous flights were also canceled at the capital’s Berlin airport on Monday morning.

Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights on the websites of the affected airports.
Allow additional time to clear passenger processing and airport security procedures.
