From 1 April, the pre-departure testing requirements for China will change. You’ll need to take an additional nucleic acid test 7 days before travel, undertake daily health monitoring for the 7 days prior to your departure, and take a rapid antigen test on the day of departure.
Testing requirements vary depending on your COVID-19 and vaccination history and may change at short notice. Contact the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate to confirm eligibility and travel requirements.
On arrival in China, you’re required to quarantine for at least 14 days at a designated hotel or facility. Additional COVID-19 prevention measures and testing will apply and may include an additional 7 days of quarantine and/or health monitoring. These will be determined by local authorities at the initial entry point and final destination in China. Due to China’s COVID-19 countermeasures, there may be significant disruptions to transport including flight suspensions and re-routing, widespread lockdowns and mass testing.
