El pasado sábado se aprobó un proyecto de ley en Francia, que prohibirá los vuelos domésticos en viajes que se pueden hacer en tren en menos de dos horas y media, en un intento por ayudar a alcanzar sus objetivos climáticos.
Los vuelos estarán prohibidos solo si hay varios trenes directos diarios disponibles para el mismo viaje, y el viaje en tren se puede hacer en menos de dos horas y media Los detalles completos aparecerán en un próximo decreto del gobierno, pero los vuelos más largos como París-Niza (seis horas en tren), París-Toulouse y París-Marsella (ambos cuatro horas en tren) continuarán como de costumbre. Las medidas podrían afectar los viajes entre el aeropuerto de París Orly y ciudades como Nantes, Lyon y Burdeos. Las medidas previstas se someterán a una nueva votación en el Senado antes de convertirse en ley.

Flights will be banned only if there are several daily direct trains available for the same journey, and the train ride can be done in less than two-and-a-half hours, according to the bill.
The full details will appear in a coming government decree, but longer flights such as Paris-Nice (six hours by train), Paris-Toulouse and Paris-Marseille (both four hours by train) will continue as usual. Transport Minister so far has only mentioned three lines that will be cut, all of which include the Orly airport south of the capital: Paris Orly-Lyon, Paris Orly-Bordeaux and Paris Orly-Nantes.
The planned measures will face a further vote in the Senate before becoming law.
