A van drove onto the rails at a crossing in Hungary Tuesday. The van entered the level-crossing regardless of the cease signal being proven, in response to an announcement from the Hungarian nationwide railway MAV. The accident happened near Mindszent, 140 kilometres (86 miles) southeast of Budapest just before 07:00 am (0500 GMT).
Due to the location and technical rescue, replacement buses are expected to run between Szentes and Hódmezővásárhely until Wednesday morning and bus travel time is expected to increase. Rail traffic on this section is expected to be suspended until Wednesday morning.
